Each person that is in custody in the jail has a commissary account where their money is held. Any money they had on them during arrest is placed in this account. Any outstanding debt from a prior incarceration in the detention center will be collected at that time. Only cash, money orders, or cashier’s check will be accepted for deposit into their commissary account either through the mail or dropped off at the detention center. No payroll or personal checks will be accepted. If the inmate owes money to the detention center when money is added to their account part of the money added to the account will go towards this debt. When an inmate is released from the detention center the detention center issue them a check in the amount of the balance of this account.
