WINTER WEATHER PREPAREDNESS
In your car or truck
Keep your vehicle equipped with a winter emergency kit that
includes:
- Blankets/sleeping bags
- Dry extra clothing
- Mittens, socks, wool cap
- Extra newspapers
- Plastic bags
- Non perishable snacks
- Lots of water
- Canned soup/broth
- Shovel/small tools
- Sack of sand/tire chains
- Jumper cables
- First-aid kit/medications
- Flashlight/extra batteries
- Candles/matches
- Cards, games, puzzles
- Bright-colored cloth
- Tissue
- De-icer
For your pets
Keep your pets safe and healthy this winter by doing the
following:
- Elevate indoor pets' beds off the floor
- Provide outdoor pets with shelter
- Bring pets inside if conditions become severe
- Feed more for extra heat-producing calories
- Contact your vet if you suspect frostbite
- Make sure your cat isn't napping on the
engine before starting your car
- Keep antifreeze away from pets
